Volunteer

St. Therese Catholic School believes that parent involvement in a child's school is important for community involvement growth. We encourage parent involvement by volunteering regularly in support of the school. Volunteering is an opportunity for each family to help us accomplish our common goals in providing a solid Catholic Education, a healthy, safe, and attractive environment for academic success by giving their time, and talent.

Volunteering Guidelines

Each family with a student enrolled at St. Therese Catholic School is expected to complete Each family is asked to make a service commitment of 50 hours per year, of which 24 hours are to be fulfilled by volunteering over a 12 month period at bingo. Parents and extended family who are 18 years of age and older may volunteer hours for the family.

Volunteer hours count if the activity directly benefits St. Therese Catholic School. Community service to other non-profit organizations, while charitable, does not count toward St. Therese Catholic School volunteer hours. The school will regularly publicize opportunities for volunteering via the newsletters and the Knights E-mail.

Families unable to meet the annual 50 hour service commitment may “buy-out” all or a portion of the service obligation at a rate of $15.00 per service hour or $750.00 total.

Reporting Volunteer Hours​

At the beginning of every school year, each family will need to log into the volunteer app on signup.com and sign up for their volunteer slots. 

​

Each slot will tell you how many volunteer tokens you will receive for each task, and if you complete other tasks an admin will assign your tokens to your assignment based upon the hours you submit to the school.

Volunteer Requirements 

All volunteers MUST have completed the following PRIOR to contact with any student or class. Diocesan Volunteer Application, a Background Check, and registration and online Safe Environment Training with VIRTUS.

In - Kind Donation 

If a parent's business or profession is one that could provide a service to school, please consider offering the product or giving the service in fulfillment of volunteer hours. Once volunteer hours have been fulfilled for the school year, volunteering these products/services will then become tax deductible and a receipt for taxes may be obtained from the school office.
